Do you want to know what goverment health care is like?

The easiest and I would say the fastest way to see goverment health care at its best is talk to a vet. I have unfortunately been receiving health care from the VA Hospital since 1994. It has been a long arguementative discouraging ride which can only be best depicted as a nightmare. Change medications without any warning because that pill costs to much and the goverment wants you to take this pill. So who is taking care of my medical care, VA doctors or the goverment? When did we start deciding what cost of a single pill costs with regards to my health care which could be life threatening or life saving? How about going off your very much needed medication cold turkey because someone forgot to re-write your prescription. Many medications state that you cannot stop treatment cold turkey but must be weened off over a period of weeks or at the minimum, be replaced with another med.. BUT NOT STOP COLD TYRKEY! I know from several occasions when this has happened and it's no picnic. I thank God I still have two legs attached to my torso, because in 1997, if I would have not questioned the goverment health care I was receiving, they were going to cut my leg off! Yes you read it correctly, they were going to cut my leg off. Thankfully there was no anestiologist in the hospital so I was able to state my case when they were putting that shiney cold ring on my leg and tightening it down with lag screws and a crescent wrench which the saw fits between the rings. I seriously doubt I am alone here and there are many other veterans out there with nightmares as well, so I ask you fellows to speak up and lets really define goverment health care as we are the ones living it on a daily basis. Sadly our families unfortunately are living through it as well. Our wives or husbands and our children have to go through these nightmares as well and I don't find that fair at all because I served my country. They didn't go to war and certainly do not deserve going through this either. I went to serve my country, now with the same valour and attitude, I will fight to the death to stop goverment health care from being promoted and existing. They already have five (5) bills offered which nobody wants.I again ask my fellow veterans, speak up on this forum and other forums in every way you can to stop this medical package from becoming a reality. God Bless America and all of our troops.

Wow.  What a story.  Unbelieveable.  Thank you for your service then, and thank you for your service now.  Keep up the fight!  Unbelieveable!

First and foremost, thank you for your service and thank God you were able to keep your leg.  For those who might need further proof of Government stupidity, ask anyone who has delt with workmans comp.  That is a nightmare.

oops, posted twice.
