School districts

By MarleneGarcia - Posted on 09 September 2009

My husband was deported to Mexico about 3 yrs ago. I live in a border town and frequently go into Mexico and visit. i recently was stopped by the school district and was told my children are not allowed to go to Mexico as long as they are in the school district. The school district has advised that if they are caught again crossing the international bridge, the school district is going to withdraw them. They are american citizens and I do pay my taxes.I feel my rights have been violated and need some help. Can anyone help?

If nothing else works....Tell the school board you're going to take it to the media, and if the threat doesn't work, actually take it to the media.

Call the school board first and find out why this rule is in place.  There must be a reason, someone did something in the past to cause this.  If you get no help there, call the State board of Education and ask there.  Next go to State Reps and right up the food chain until you find the reason.  Don't let up until it is expalined and why it is being applied to you.

You bring up a sore topic with illegals in the US and the "broken families" because of deportation.  To address your question I agree more information is needed.

I think more information regarding the particular school district and town are needed.
