Speaking out is essential even more so, now due to this toxic socalitic climate warming in our fair country. I recognize that my words here at questionobama, might put my family and friends at risk, but it is high time we who are Americans, must speak out against inner and outer terrorist who threaten not only our idea of freedom but the existence of freedom for everyone. It is time to speak out.
I think everyone's opinions here are valid. What I just thought of though, and it not only sickens me to think about it, but also makes me angry, is their speaking out may put their families, friends and loved ones in danger. I also have to say I don't understand their culture either, which may be a factor as well. I like the idea of a stamp without the lettering we don't understand, but with Muslims, Americans, etc. all together in peace - with absolutely NO lettering or symbols at all. I really like your idea...
Santa, it is refreshing to hear that Muslim Americans were upset by the tragedy on 9/11; I had not heard anything indicating that they recognize threat of terrorists to their own peaceful life here in America, and its bastion of religious freedoms. I want to see the Muslim conservatism rise in America. I want to be beside them in peaceful marches in DC and pray next to them for the present and future prosperity for America.
Stamps will not speak this posistion to other Americans, Muslim or otherwise. Solidarity through a language most cannot understand, is vague. A picture paints a thousand words. I would love to see a stamp that shows Americans, Muslim and Christian (or other) hand in hand under banner that speak against the terrorists and their adgenda. That would speak volumes. To have a prayer of love and support for respect for life no matter the religion, in ode or poem would be a stronger message of solidarity.
In this progressive world where religion has no place in the socialist' eden, its time for all religions to stand together and fight against this persecution. Vvagueness is a tool too often used to exhibit a subtle stand instead of an obvious passion. It is time to stand together and fight outer and inner terrorism that seeks to destroy the freedoms of the individualistic American.
I understand you're being upset, but just because it's Muslim, doesn't mean it's evil... I remember after 9-11 an American Muslim store owner who was just as angry, upset and hurt as we were was beaten up by Americans - just because he was Muslim. If this new postage stamp had ties to the radical faction, then I could see boycotting it. I personally think this stamp may be a way Muslim's who are trying to peacefully spread the word of love are trying to get the word out to love, not hate... Just my humble opinion.
I mentioned the same thing on September 16th about another Muslim stamp. Someone did not like my stance against praising muslim radicalism when our country and others are being attacked. The Muslim nation is guilty for being silent to these terrorist attack and therefore condoning them.
Like rubberlegs, boycott and show the USPS that we will not be lulled into a false sense of security and begin to accept this culture of terror. This is the same tactic the gay community is taking. Making us think that there is many more that agree than disagree with the radical muslim goal to annihilate the Christian culture this country is founded on.
I am not saying that those who are muslim should not seek coming to America. Amereica is a safe haven for any religious practice that can live in harmony with others, just as long as the practice does not include destroying any other culture. I expect that those who seek peace in America will accept and respect the terms of the Christian faith that gives them the mercy and grace to continue their practice here. I hope the peaceful part of Muslim practictioners start to voice their outrage at those who give them a bad name and create chaos for the sake of their own vanity and not their god, Allah.
