Microsoft Bing Denies QuestionObama
QuestionObama was granted free some advertising credits with the Microsoft AdCenter through a promotional offer. The Microsoft AdCenter displays adds on the Bing search engine and Bing affiliates.
Never turning down a freebie, I decided to put up an advertisement. Below is a picture of the ad.

Much to my surprise. The ad (along with some keywords) were rejected.

Obviously, I was not pleased with this. If you notice, QuestionObama is not a site that collects any forms of revenue. We are not out to make a "commercial gain". My anger was further inflamed when I "binged" some keywords such as "anti-palin", "anti-mccain", etc. There were ads on Bing for these keywords. I decided to email Microsoft. Surprisingly they responded.
Response from Microsoft
Thank you for contacting Microsoft adCenter Support, my name is Elizabeth.
I am responding to the email request where you had received an editorial disapproval for content on the landing page. I can understand the importance of understanding why the ad has been disapproved and I am happy to assist you with this.
I realize that there are some keywords of similar nature currently being used by some advertisers, they could be bidding on the political name for their merchandise and thus displaying when placing an ‘anti’ in front of the name. The few ads I was able to locate were companies selling merchandise not a place to view personal opinion on any leader.
Please review our Editorial Content Guidelines to help explain why the ad was disapproved. Essentially some of the comments that have been posted are not allowed within our guidelines.
Defamatory, libelous, slanderous content- Advertising that contains defamatory, libelous, or slanderous content is not allowed.
Hate speech- Advertising that facilitates or promotes hate speech, whether directed at an individual or a group, is not allowed.
Political content - Advertising that exploits sensitive political issues for commercial gain is not allowed. However, political advocacy is generally allowed.
I do not think that any comments or content on this site can be classified as hate speech....that is a far, far stretch. Yes, this is a political site, but it is a site that is focused around political advocacy.
Obviously Microsoft is under no requirement to run my ad. It is their business. However, clearly running ads that are on the opposite side of the political spectrum that have similar content as QuestionObama.com, shows me their true colors.
It is a sad day, when Google, a company that is clearly a supporter of BO, allows a greater level of freedom of speech.
Would love to hear your thoughts and comments.....chime in!

Lack of transparancy and total desire to cover up any alternative to this Administration's liberal, left wing, and Marxist (look at the Czars) slant is obvious. Why is this administration so blatant and so in-your-face in the refusal to listen to the taxpaying, voting public. I guess they just think they know better.
Just look at how Chavez takes care of the rebels and the vocally resistant. Don't think Obama doesnt take notes from this and many dictators, haters of freedom and individualism. Obama has shown how he likes to embarass those who question his authority just as Pelosi, Dodd and Reed do. Notice the negative speeh against Obama is considered hate mongering, but if it is directed by him and his administration it is acceptable and considered a "teachable moment".
Be warned the persecution has begun, and if anyone in this administration watches the polls and or Fox News (and they do), they (Obama and Company) are seriously fearful. We cannot ever cease to speak the truth and question the actions of the powerful. History books can be re-written, but word of mouth of the truth will always withstand all persecution.
Looks like we know what side they're on
After much research and investigative areas on the internet, I have come to the conclusion that all of the major money makers are in a very special group with our president. AARP, who said they didn't support Obama was a lie. Microsoft a huge money firm is also with Obama. The unions are with Obama. Any organization with billion dollar profit figures are with Obama. Individuals like Opra (a billionaire) is with Obama. The little guy doesn't even have a chance to make any derogatory or negative statements concerning Obama and our elected officials.
I was not suprised that this site would not be allowed any coverage. Our own senators and congressmen ignor us.
As days pass unfortunately more and more negative news will be heard and come to pass. I pray we can overcome this in the end, ... if there is an end.
It has been said that "the pen is mightier than the sword". So I say keep this group going and lets try to get more individuals to join and share good worthy news and lets all try to help each other keep our spirits up and our values high.
I know sooner or later more individuals who have some power in media areas will help us all to continue fighting for our individual rights and persuit of happiness as clearly written in our Constitution.
also, proves they have no sense of humor!
sad, the total lack of tolerance by libs is disgusting! They smear and crucify those who would dare question them. Just remember Joe the Plumber
Thanks for this site. I just took advantage of your fax option about NO health care bill. I think rubberlegs might have a good idea. Glenn, Rush, or Sean might be willing to expose this bias. This president has Microsoft and Google intimidated?? Think about what that says! He scares me to death.
While I personally agree with you, having been on this site, I also have to agree with Microsoft... You would never allow hate speech on this site - and if something like that were posted, it would be removed and the member blocked (I'm sure). However, they can't take that chance - all it takes is one idiot (and there's a lot of them out there) posting something hateful, one person to copy the page, and it's forever on the internet. And if it's bad enough, the papers would pick it up... And who's to say a sneaky, back-handed competitor wouldn't do something like that to Microsoft...
But I like your site...
This should not surprise you...with the issues and regulations surrounding net neutrality both Microsoft and Google have much to loose by ticking off BO.
It is quite clear that certain individuals and firms, companies and groups are not well received by Microsoft and Google. Unfortunately this site has become part of that list but look at it this way - your as good as Fox news.
I, too, would be royally ticked off but that seems to be the way...some sneak by (altho I did not understand the anti-thing explanarion), while the application of rules is handled selectively. Emphasize advocacy....or find a new wall to bang your head against.
very interesting, thanks for sharing with your followers.
UPDATE: Last night I emailed them again for further clarification. I also created an ad that had to do with our Activism Center. Something that is clearly advocacy. It was immediatly rejected.
I would send all of the info to fox news, perhaps Glenn Beck would do a piece on it exposing Microsoft.
did they respond to the fact that the site is seeking no commercial gain and is focused on advocacy? I would email them again
